Questions of motivation of the parties which make the transactions connected with change of structure of the property in business, are very ambiguous. both sellers, and buyers of a share or all business can be guided by various motives which generally, that is from the point of view of adam smith's classical political economy, usually are considered purely rational (that is aimed as a result on increase in cost of the property at minimisation of the risks connected with it). however, as practice shows, people in business life are rational not always, and businessmen are not an exception. in particular, loss of interest of the owner to the business, fear before the arisen serious difficulties, their unwillingness to overcome can be the reason of a full or partial exit from business, a certain element of a fashion (for example, on carrying out ipo) is essential even. i think that in this sense the behaviour of investors in such transaction is more reasonable: generally similar investors are institutional (or private persons, with certain institutes). operating within the limits of the chosen strategy, they are less subject to emotions and etc.
